How do you make your best tea ?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Under the directions, they ask you to use one tea bag per cup. I use a mug which holds two cups. Should I use two tea bags?

Also how do you make your best tea ?

tea made in a cup? BRACCKKKKKKKKKK!

Tea must be made in a teapot, to be made properly. Fill the teapot with hot water to "hot the pot", while you boil the water. Boil fresh water in a kettle, and pour over the tea bag(s) in the teapot. If you don’t have a tea cosy to keep it hot, wrap a towel around the teapot.
Let steep for 5 minutes.

The important part is that the water must be bubbling hot. Most American kettles only bring the water just to a boil. It needs to be really boiling hard to properly steep the tea and bring out the flavour.

Why is green tea so bitter when I make it at home but so good in restaurants?

Monday, March 8th, 2010

I’ve tried many different kinds. How can I make loose Jasmine tea really well? Does that green tea powder work better? Thanks.

Three things:
1) use less loose tea–a little goes a long way (use about a teaspoon for 4 cups of tea)
2) don’t use boiling water for green/jasmine tea. Let it cool for about 4-5 minutes before pouring on the tea leaves
3) like others have said, don’t steep too long–the longer you steep it, the more bitter it becomes.

How to make tea with fresh herbs?

Friday, March 5th, 2010

I have just recently brought some Chocolate Mint and Sage plants and would like to know if it is safe to use the fresh leaves with hot water to make tea.
Id love some suggestions and am asking because im a new gardener and dont know if its safe to do that.
Akso i have been given a sugarplant (Stevia) and want to know if i can add its fresh leaves to tea as well.

I will really appreciate your imput or advice and if you know of any helpfull websites id love to know.
Thanks heaps.

It is easy to make what is actually called a tisane, not a tea. Tea is from camellia sinensis and is the only thing that is properly called tea. However, to answer your question: you can make sure your mint leaves are not sprayed with any type of pesticide, and pace them in a teapot or cup and pour boiling water over them. Steep for a few minutes and enjoy.

How is white tea made differently than the others?

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

What is the difference between white tea and other teas?

Black tea has been fully fermented during processing, and green has not been fermented at all. Oolong teas are somewhere in the middle. So what is ‘white tea’?
Well, just like those other teas, white tea come from the Camellia sinensis plant. But the leaves are picked and harvested before the leaves open fully, when the buds are still covered by fine white hair. Hence the name. White tea is scarcer than the other traditional teas, and quite a bit more expensive.

White tea is similar to green tea, in that it’s undergone very little processing and no fermentation. But there is a noticable difference in taste. Most green teas have a distinctive ‘grassy’ taste to them, but white tea does not. The flavour is described as light, and sweet. You should steep white tea in water that is below the boiling point.
The UtiliTEA Variable Temperature Tea Kettle is perfect for use with white tea.
If you are drinking tea for your health, you may want to consider white teas. There is also considerably less caffeine in white tea than the other varieties (15mg per serving, compared to 40mg for black tea, and 20mg for green). Some studies have also shown that white tea contains more active cancer-fighting antioxidants than green tea.

As with all teas, there are many varieties of white tea, with poetic names such as: white peony, golden moon, silver needle and white cloud. White teas are produced mostly in China and Japan, but the Darjeeling region of India also produces some fine white teas.

TEA PARTY CONVENTION – Sarah Palin, Orly Taitz, Interviews with Participants

PLEASE HELP US SHARE THIS VIDEO

DIGG HERE: http://digg.com/d31IccY?t

In February 2010, the group tea Party Nation organized the first Tea Party Convention in Nashville, TN, a for-profit event. Some 600 people paid $550 to attend, and Sarah Palin was reportedly paid $115,000 to the be the keynote speaker. After criticism of the convention’s cost, for-profit status, and payment to Palin, multiple national Tea Party organizations withdrew their participation.

But the event went on.

And so did the paranoid, conspiratorial assertions–that President Obama was born in another country, that he has covered up his college transcripts, that he is pushing a communist/socialist agenda, that he is protecting terrorists and endangering our country, etc.

The organizers of the convention made great efforts to limit access to the press, and even held “new-media training” sessions to help the Tea Partiers sound and look better on camera–the more people see inside this movement, the less like it. But we got ourselves into the event, where the right-wing, fringe sentiments were on plain display.

That said, these Tea Partiers–able to pay the cost of attendance–are more affluent than those at the 9.12 DC March, and more self-conscious of they are portrayed in the media. There were fewer signs and homemade t-shirts here, but the attitudes, if more subtle in delivery, were the same.

How do I make my tea taste better?

Monday, March 1st, 2010

In my house we drink alot of Kool Aid and I want to drink tea. We a big box of "Great Value" with little tea packets inside them. I was just wonder if there was anything or anyway to make really great tea with those packets. Also, can you tell me what ingredients I will need.
And how to make Iced Tea?
Please don’t say "add sugar" because I already know that.

We do two different things depending on the weather.

One with those bags, take about 8 in a big pot with water and bring to boil, boil for about a good five min. depending on the strength you want. Longer for stronger, careful not to bust the bags open or boil them to death. In about a two gallon picture pour the tea and add two cups of sugar. Depending on how sweet you want it.

On sunny days, we will put our tea bags in a picture with a lid and let it sit out in the sun for about 6/8 hours, then add the sugar and fill glass full of ice have a nice glass of iced sun tea.

How do you get the tea stains out of the "white basket" on an ice tea maker?

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I have a Mr.l Coffee Ice tea Maker and the white basket that the tea bags brew/sit in is stained. Any suggestions on how to remove them?

I use baking soda and a little bit of vinegar to do the trick, it may take some scrubbing.

Tazo Green Tips Tea good for you and give the benefits of real green tea?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Does TAZO [green tea tips] grean tea reallly help you? Like i know how green tea speeds up your metabolism and stuff but is this rreal green tea or just colored…Also what are some more advantages to greentea/tea drinkers like myself :]]

as far as I know, there are no tea manufacturers that add food coloring to their tea. The term green tea does not mean the tea will be green. Green is a term used to distinguish the type of tea it is and the level of oxidation that the tea leaves have been subjected to.

Green tea has been shown to prevent some illnesses and boosts your metabolism very slightly. It’s also has a relaxing calming effect on your body.
