What are the dangers of taking ginger when pregnant?
My daughter told me she was taking ginger pills (500 mg) for morning sickness. She heard it might help and is trying about everything to be able to go to work. She said there is a warning on the ginger bottle concerning pregnant or nursing women, and we wondered what the danger is, since apparently it’s a relatively common treatment of morning sickness.
As far as I know, there are no dangers to taking ginger. I don’t know if I’d take a pill though. I drank ginger ale for my morning sickness. It helped so much! I felt so much better, especially when I got it at work. If you’re really concerned, talk to a doctor. They can tell you whether or not to take it.

What does the warning say? If it says ask a doctor first she should do that. Good luck.

maybe just to be use with precaution. My dr recommended them for my morning sickness….maybe she could just give a call to her GP to have him explain why is there a warning sign on the bottle and if it is of any concern at all.

Ginger is safe in moderation… I drank ginger tea once or twice a day while pregnant to fight of morning sickness. She should be fine… just don’t over do it. She might want to try a ginger tea it’s more soothing when feeling nauseated. But if she’s concerned ask her doc if it’s safe.

small doses of ginger are fine
but essential oils with ginger are the ones to watch out for as they are highly concentrated

EVERYTHING has a warning on it not to take it while PG, even the stuff they tell you to take.
She should talk to her doctor, but I imagine it is just fine.
