What’s the best way to drink hot tea?

I hate tea, but I’m trying to drink more tea than coffee (i’m a coffee junkie) because I know it’s better for you. I like green tea with honey a lot but I’m looking for other ways to doctor up tea, any kind. Any suggestions? Or what’s you favorite kind of tea so I can experiment with different kinds/flavors?(I’m not a tea aficionado lol)

There’s lots of different teas out there.
For herbal, I like Numi’s Sweet Meadows (Chamomile and Lemon Myrtle). Another good one is Kid’s Cuppa, by Republic of Tea. Light and fruity, and made iced, very refreshing on a hot summer day.

Green tea-Apple Blossom is my favorite, though I rarely drink green tea. Not too crazy about the aftertaste.

Black-Ginger Peach and Blackberry Sage (ALso Rep. of Tea).

Try the Republic of Tea website. They have a flavor for every person.
Here are some of the Green Tea flavors they carry:
ginger Lemon Grass Fair Trade Certified

Tangerine Orange Fair Trade Certified

Blueberry Green Tea

Moroccan Mint Green tea

Spring Cherry Green Tea

Oh, and I always drink my tea as is. No sugar, no milk. I find it ruins the flavor! And with those lovely flavored teas, you don’t need anything else. They have such a light, refreshing flavor, it’s too delicate for additives!

    Ice, Ice baby!

I don’t drink it hot cuz I cracked a tooth once that way straight up the middle.
Add ice. Add sweet & low 1/2 a packet. Add mint leaves, and use lemon. Delicious!

I’m in the same boat you are. I love coffee so much. It’s so hard to give up. Try regular black or oolong (not green) with a bit of cream or lemon (not together though, the cream will curdle) for a more european style. I also enjoy the light taste of white tea which is baby green. You might also like fruit teas which sometimes are pure dried fruit and other times a blend (check the labels). And there is always flavored teas. I have peppermint / green tea and it’s fantastic. If you get really bored, get a book on tea leaf reading and start drinking loose tea (the stuff sticks to the bottom of the cup) at least it will help pass the time.

Hey… I am or had the same problem.. I was addicted to coffee and decided to change to tea(green tea) and below are some things you can add.. I am on a diet so I did not choose adding sugar but added lemon.. simply lemon. I like (ed) the honey taste Ibut being on a diet, I opted NOT to use honey but only lemon.. Second best was fat free milk:

It is, of course, always good to try a tea without anything else in it first. That way you can see if you appreciate its natural flavors, and pick out the hints of flavor that you like the most. If you add in a ton of milk right away, you might never realize that it would have tasted really nice with a hint of honey and nothing else.

Here are some classic items that people tend to add to their tea for flavor.

    Milk
Probably the most common – the milk adds a bit of creaminess as well as helps to cool the tea down to a drinkable temperature. Note that tea is very light in flavor, so cream would be rather heavy and make the whole drink just taste like "warm milk". In the ancient days of true porcelain, milk *had* to be added first, so that the hot tea didn’t directly strike the cup and shatter it. We don’t worry about that in modern times. Most people who like milk in their hot drinks don’t mind the slight scalded flavor.

    Honey
The nectar of the bees was the sugar of the ancient world. This was the way to get a sweet-tooth pleasure from a sip of tea. As an added benefit, eating local honey helps you develop resistance to local allergens.

    Lemon
For those seeking a citrus zing rather than a sweet honey flavor, lemon does the trick. Be warned that lemon’s acid will naturally curdle milk.

    Sugar
In modern times we all have easy access to sugar. Perhaps our access is now TOO easy :) In any case, you can certainly use sugar rather than honey for your sweet tooth fix. Just remember to brush!

If you were a coffee junkie – you have to try black tea (Arabic chi). It has a very distinct flavor and had a nice caffeine kick (stronger than most). It is very good.

Or Chi latte, it is a spiced flavored tea with nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon and milk

Also try rose water to flavor your teas. They also have lavender water.
